Yesterday was our first official fundraising event. We started out small to see what would happen and so things wouldn't be too far over our heads. My sister was having a garage sale and we planned to mooch off of her driveway and set up shop there. We had coffee and muffins and set our price point (after many changes of our minds) to $1.00 for coffee and $.50 for a muffin. Lindsey made beautiful signs for our table, my Mom offered to bake the muffins, Shannon rocked the sales and pleas for donations and I helped organize, set up and clean up. Things were a bit slow - but one lady bought 12 muffins. We had some takers on the coffee but not as many as I'd hoped for on a cool morning. We did sell out of muffins by the end of the day and we made a profit of $60! That's a great start for us to build on our fundraising ideas and purchases for our team.
It was a beautiful day and a lot of fun to sit and chat. We have plans for bigger fundraising events in the future - we'll keep you posted
